Metabolic syndrome

Metabolic syndrome : The group of risk factors includes abdominal obesity (excess visceral fat), high blood sugar levels. high blood pressure and high blood fat levels That increases the risk of diabetes, heart disease and stroke.   Excess visceral fat is the silent killer you might not expect. People who are obese will have a large amount of fat accumulated in their abdomen, the more around the belly. The more fat accumulates in the abdominal cavity. This accumulated fat is broken down into free fatty acids which enter the liver. This causes insulin to not work properly, resulting in "belly obesity".which is the cause of various chronic diseases such as high blood sugar high blood pressure Hyperlipidemia, diabetes, coronary heart disease Stroke. Every 5 cm increase in the waist increases the chance of diabetes 3-5 times.

Therefore, the bigger the belly, the The sooner you die."

Excessive abdominal fat.......how dangerous is it?

Visceral fat promotes insulin resistance.

(Insulin resistance is a change in DNA within cells that makes the cells less responsive to the effects of insulin than they should. If insulin resistance occurs in the liver makes the liver unable to inhibit the production of glucose. (causes high blood sugar levels) If insulin resistance occurs in the fat cells, the fat cells are unable to stop their decomposition. Free fatty acids are easily formed. (resulting in increased fat accumulation in the muscles and liver Makes insulin resistance worse) resulting in the death of pancreatic beta cells. and lead to diabetes

Negative effects of insulin resistance

1.Causes high blood sugar levels High blood sugar accelerates inflammation of the blood vessels. Increases the chance of heart disease and stroke by 2-3 times.

2.Causes blood vessel walls to function abnormally Blood vessels becoming less flexible causes high blood pressure. inflammation of blood vessels and diabetes

3.Reduces the body's ability to dissolve clotted blood. It is the source of atherosclerosis.

4.Causes fat crystals (Plaque) in the blood vessels faster. Leads to faster atherosclerosis.

5.Causes insulin levels in the blood to be high. Therefore causing high blood pressure. and abnormal blood fats Almost all obese people have high levels of insulin in their blood.

Group of risk factors for abdominal obesity (metabolic syndrome)

Men have a waist circumference of more than 90 cm and women have a waist circumference of more than 80 cm, plus 2 of the following 4 risk factors.

1.High blood pressure 130/85 mmHg or more.

2.Fasting blood sugar 100 milligrams per deciliter or more.

3.High triglyceride level 150 Milligrams per deciliter or more

4.HDL cholesterol level less than 40 milligrams per deciliter for men and less than 50 milligrams per deciliter for women.

Risk factors for disease

1.Age: It is found that the older you get, the higher the chance of getting it. People aged 20 experience this condition only 10%. People aged 60 have a 40% incidence rate.

2.Race: Black people have a higher chance than normal.

3.Fat people have more chances than thin people.

4.People with a family history if you have diabetes, you have a high chance of developing the disease.

5.Other diseases such as high blood pressure

Treatment

When people are diagnosed with Metabolic Syndrome, they must receive treatment to reduce risk factors for atherosclerosis and diabetes. and must be assessed for the risk of other vascular diseases as well

Behavioral treatment

1.Exercising 30 minutes a day, 5 days a week will reduce the incidence of high blood pressure and diabetes.

2.Eating healthy food Reduce fatty foods and receive starchy foods not exceeding 50 percent of the food eaten. Eat foods that are high in dietary fiber. such as whole grain foods, brown rice, vegetables, beans, reduce meat foods. Use soybean oil instead of palm oil, avoid coconut milk.

3.Lose weight: Studies from Finland and America have found that losing 5-10 percent of your weight will delay or reduce your risk of developing diabetes.

4.Reduce alcohol
