What is depression?

   Depression is a symptom of a mood disorder. This affects the patient in terms of

 thoughts, feelings, and behavior. Depression is a state of continuously depressed

 mood and a feeling of apathy. Ignoring things that affect your ability to function on a

 daily basis can be difficult or life can feel meaningless.

  Depression is not a physical discomfort or uneasiness that can be easily shaken

 off. Patients with depression should receive continuous and long-term treatment,

 such as medication or psychotherapy or both. It will help most patients get better

 again.

What causes depression?

Major depressive disorder is a psychiatric disorder that occurs from an abnormality

 or imbalance of three types of neurotransmitters in the brain: serotonin,

 norepinephrine, and dopamine. It will affect the patient both physically and

 mentally. Therefore, it is necessary to receive proper treatment from a psychiatrist.

 negative words on social media.

The treatment method consists of 2 main parts as follows:

1. Drug treatment - Antidepressant medication to balance chemicals in the brain is

 therefore very necessary. Antidepressants help relieve symptoms of depression.

 Take medicine until you feel better, then you should continue taking medicine for

 another 6-12 months to prevent symptoms from coming back again. Therefore,

 even if you feel well, you still need to take medicine as prescribed by your doctor

 continuously to prevent a recurrence.

2. Psychological treatment - There are many forms of psychological treatment

 available to help people with depression. This may involve talking with a

 psychiatrist, which will help the patient understand themselves. The cause of one's

 own suffering, depression, understanding the problem and ultimately leading to the

 appropriate solution.

   When you get to know about depression, you will see that depression is not just a

 depressed mood. If it is a disease that affects oneself and one's family, and if left

 untreated, it may lead to work and lifestyle problems. Some cases can lead to

 suicide, so if you find or suspect that you or your loved ones are suffering from

 depression. Should be taken to consult a doctor because if treated correctly with

 the appropriate method. You and those close to you can continue to live happily.
