- When you have inhaled fully, hold your breath for a moment.

- Take a long breath. Feel the movement of the breath exhaling through the nostrils until the abdomen flattens and both hands lower.

- When skilled, you may sit comfortably in a chair. Both hands are clasped in front of the legs or abdomen. Then follow the steps as if lying on your back.

- Avoid drinking alcohol: The use of drugs and medications that trigger palpitations can cause panic attacks.
