Prevention of high blood pressure

 


 High blood pressure is a condition in which blood pressure is detected at a level higher than normal. Equal to or greater than 140/90 mmHg Which may not show symptoms but will cause various complications such as heart disease, stroke, aortic aneurysm, kidney failure, etc. If not treated properly and appropriately, it may cause illness, disability or death.

 What is high blood pressure?

High blood pressure can be easily prevented by changing our lifestyle habits. Turn to take care of your body's health. Avoid eating salty foods, focus on eating fruits and vegetables, exercise regularly, get enough rest, avoid smoking and drinking alcoholic beverages, control your weight and have regular health checks.




Preventing high blood pressure

1.Avoid all types of salty food.

2.You should drink milk and low-fat milk products that provide calcium. Grains or nuts that provide magnesium. Dietary fibers such as red beans, tofu, sesame, etc.

3.Focus on eating fruits and vegetables that provide potassium, such as pumpkin, spinach, broccoli, tomatoes, papaya, bananas, mangoes, guava, etc.

4.Control your weight, waist circumference should not exceed your own height divided by 2, exercise regularly at least 3-4 times a week, 30-60 minutes each time.

5. Stop or reduce drinking alcohol or smoking.

6. People with a family history of high blood pressure Blood pressure should be checked every 2 years. If you are 35 years of age or older, it should be checked every 1 year.

7. People with blood pressure between 120/80 -139/89 mmHg are classified as a high-risk group. You should adjust your behavior to reduce the chance of developing high blood pressure.

How to measure blood pressure at home

1.Do not drink tea, coffee, alcohol or exercise 30 minutes before the measurement.

2. Before taking the measurement, you should urinate completely.

3.Sit in a chair with your back resting so as not to strain your back, with both feet flat on the floor. To feel relaxed 5 minutes before measuring.

4. Measure blood pressure on the non-dominant arm. Place your arms on the same level as your heart.

5.While measuring your blood pressure, do not clench your fist, talk, or move.
