Preventing and taking care of yourself to prevent knee pain

• Control your body weight to suit your age and occupation.

• The older you get, the thinner your bones become. Your weight should be controlled within an appropriate range.

• Go up and down stairs as necessary. Elderly people should not go up or down stairs.

• Sleep on the bed instead of the floor so that you don't have to bend your knees as much.

• Sit in a chair that is high enough that your knees are perpendicular and your feet touch the floor. Don't sit on the floor for a long time.

• Avoid squatting.

• When walking up and down stairs, step with the better leg, followed by the sore leg, and when descending, step down with the sore leg, followed by the good leg. (on the same staircase)
