Acute kidney failure

           Acute kidney failure is a condition in which kidney function declines rapidly. When doctors provide timely treatment, kidney function can recover better. The cause is loss of fluid from the body, such as severe vomiting or diarrhea, excessive blood loss from an accident or gastrointestinal bleeding and severe bloodstream infections.

    Chronic kidney failure is a condition in which the kidneys slowly deteriorate continuously or have kidney abnormalities for more than 3 months. If end-stage chronic kidney failure occurs, they will not be able to recover and function as normal and must receive treatment. Treatment approaches such as hemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis and kidney transplant surgery. The most common cause of chronic kidney failure is due to underlying diseases such as diabetes and high blood pressure.




Common causes of acute kidney failure

-Severe fluid deficiency causing a lack of blood to the kidneys, such as severe diarrhea, accident patients who have lost a lot of blood

- Drugs or toxins that affect the kidneys. Common drugs include antibiotics, arthritis drugs. In general, taking medicine for a long time can affect the kidneys.

- Severe infection

- Major surgery especially heart surgery

- Nephritis from SLE

- After infection, there is obstruction of the urinary tract from kidney stones in the ureter or bladder, enlarged prostate or cervical cancer, etc.

Warning signs of acute kidney failure

-Swollen arms and legs

-Urine less than 400 cc per day or in some cases, no urine comes out at all.

-Headache, nausea and vomiting

- Feeling dizzy, tired, or dehydrated




Acute kidney failure How can we avoid it?

 - Exercise regularly

- Get enough sleep for 7-8 hours.

- Drink at least 6-8 glasses of water per day.

- Take care and control your weight within limits.

- Protect yourself by changing behaviors that are at risk of acute kidney failure.

    Acute kidney failure It is a very dangerous condition. If treated slowly it may develop into chronic kidney failure because the kidneys are a very important organ for the body to eliminate and filter waste. If anyone feels that their body is abnormal, they should see a doctor immediately.
